AIG 2020-2021

December 22, 2020
Welcome everyone to AIG at SSMS.
This certainly has been and will continue to be an unusual year with the Covid-19 pandemic.
We all of us need to be safe.
Wear a mask at all times. Keep six feet apart to socially distance. Wash your hands for 20 seconds.

My AIG classes are all remote this year.
In my Personal Finance classes in the fall semester we focused on student driven projects about money, budgets, future plans, keeping track of expenses and comparison shopping.

I have sent home a letter about AIG this school year with last year's DEP for parents to keep.
Included in that letter was this year's DEP for parents to sign and return it to school.
If your child is only learning remotely this year, your letter and DEPs are in the SSMS front office. Just come in and sign the form and return it right then. You keep the letter and last year's DEP.

I will be working on posting on my AIG webpages "Reading Lists for College-Bound Students."
These are lists of suggested books to read if your child is going to college. This is to help students become well read in both nonfiction subjects and fiction.  Those who read widely and deeply have an advantage in college no matter what they plan to study. It is also good preparation for the SAT and ACT tests before college or placement tests taken in college. The list is sorted by grade level but students can read at any level. This list is taken from many college recommended reading lists. This is totally optional. I benefited from doing this years ago. Many of my students in the past have told me that it helped them in college.
