Math 24

 SSMS Math 24

What is it?A math competition using cards that make the number 24 using the four numbers on a game card. Some sets have single digit numbers,
some have double digits and some have variables.
What is the purpose of the Math 24 competition?
The purpose of the competition is to give students an opportunity to advance their mental math and critical thinking skills.  It also increases students enthusiasm for math.  It gives students who are not in some other type of club a chance to be part of a group.
How does the time taken for Math 24 justify its use?
It is all for the students.  It gives all students an opportunity to participate in something at which they excel.
Who is involved? At the middle school level, any student who would like to participate to be a part of the club.  I particularly encourage AIG students to participate, but it is not limited to AIG students.
Where is it? There will be a competition at Pfeiffer When? When the pandemic is over.
We did not go to the March 2020 competition due to the pandemic. I doubt that there will be a competition in 2021. So probably the next Math 24 contest will be in March 2022.
