Mrs. Stevens' 7th Grade ELA

I received my Associate in Arts degree in Early Childhood from Stanly Community College.  I received my Bachelor of Arts degree

in Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I am licensed to teach K-6,

Middle School Reading/Language Arts, Middle School Social Studies and hold a K-12 AIG certification.

I also received my Master's degree in Educational Instructional Technology from East Carolina University.

I have been married to my husband, Scott, for 33 years and we have two sons, John and Jake.

I love all sports, especially when I know the kids wh
o are participating. I also coach SSMS's Volleyball team and sponsor the

SSMS Junior Honor Society and yearbook.

I learned from a very wise professor that I do not teach subjects; I teach children!

We will continue studying word stems and referring back to Sean Covey's, "7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens."

We will take a break from our current vocabulary studies as we focus on our novel, The Devil's Arithmetic by Jane Yolen. Content vocabulary will be taken from the novel, as well as study concerning poetry and figurative language prior to our next NC Check-Ins.
